Encourage
“Y’all come back now, ya hear?”
This may be a little down home. But we sure want the guest
leaving feeling that we really do want them to come back for another visit.
But it is extremely important that throughout their dining
time that we continue to develop that rapport and friendship with them that will
encourage them to return again.
If we find out they have an upcoming special occasion, we
should offer to make a reservation for them.
It doesn’t hurt to remind them of any upcoming holidays or big events
that they may want to make reservations for.
It never hurts to do a little self promotion here by letting
them know how much you enjoyed waiting on them and if they would like, you
would be happy to schedule a reservation for them the following week.
Everyone that passes a departing guest should thank them and
invite them back. If a host or manager is at the door we should even go so far
as to open the door for them and thank them again.
If a guest has had a problem we should also at this time
apologize to the guest and ensure that they are happy and that we have done
everything we could to keep them as a satisfied guest.
We can never thank a guest enough for coming in. Thank them
when you drop the check off, thank them when you return with the change or
credit card, thank them as they are leaving.
When we ask them how their dinner was we want to hear them
say “AWESOME!”
Have an awesome day and make more money!
