Acronyms, every industry has them and become part of the everyday language used in that industry. The restaurant industry is no different and often confuse the guest when we use them in our conversation in earshot of them.

There is one acronym though that not only will they understand but will also appreciate very much. In fact waiters that use this acronym while waiting on a guest find that the guest tips more as they are so appreciative.                                                                                                                                              
In fact the waiter does not even have to utter the word, they just use the meaning of the acronym.              

Now you may think I am full of B.S. (another acronym)but I guarantee you this acronym has been tested repeatedly and has been proven not to fail. Many of the top professional waiters around the world use this incredibly easy to use and learn acronym.                                                                                                  

Some call it a fail proof system to earning more money.                                                                              
This is starting to sound like a sales pitch and soon you are thinking that I will be asking for money, but its not. In fact if you ever have the opportunity to wait on me, you will find that I will pay you to use it in the form of a larger tip. My wife and I are already notorious in our area for being over tippers but great service deserves it. When a waiter uses all or most of this acronym they score bonus points and we ask for them anytime we visit their restaurant.                                                                                                                
On to the good stuff and what this acronym stands for. About time right?                                                    
AWESOME Service is really a guide for providing your guest with the total dining experience from the time they enter the restaurant to the time they leave.                                                                    

  A - Acknowledge - The greeting process is very important and sets the tone for a positive dining experience right from the start.

  W - Welcome - Making a guest feel valued and important will make them a loyal patron

  E - Enthusiasm - Your genuine interest in their experience will benefit everyone around you

  S - Special Attention - Give your guests that extra attention that they will remember

  O - Optimize -Optimize your time to improve the guests enjoyment by multitasking and up-selling

  M - Make Sure It's Right - From the time you take the order, place the order and deliver the order

   E - Encourage - The guest to return and to ask for you. Loyal guests will comeback often and tip better

 You as an AWESOME waiter have the opportunity to put these steps into action with each and every guest. Not only will you provide an unforgettable experience for the guest,you will also increase your income! Now get out there, provide AWESOME Service and watch your income grow!
