Enthusiasm
“Do what you love, or love what you do!”
This is your choice. If you choice to show enthusiasm and
interest in what you do and in your products that you sell, that enthusiasm
will emanate to your guests and fellow employees.
In this business of endless tiny details, it is sometimes
hard to keep our perspective. This is especially true during busy and stressful
times; attending to the little things seems to get in the way. Keep in mind
that by attending to these details is what the guest will remember most. The
server that went out of their way to get it just the way they like it.
Treat your guests like you would as if they were in your
home. Make your guests feel comfortable and welcome. Show respect and genuine
appreciation of them being here and soon you will find that the same feelings
of respect and appreciation are be returned.
Create a fun environment for your guests. Celebrate with
them if they are honoring a birthday or anniversary. Sing in a cheerful voice the birthday or
anniversary song, sing it like you mean it!”
Positive language also creates enthusiasm and happy guests.
Even on a dreary rainy day make it bright by saying “Nice weather we are
having”, just because it is raining outside doesn’t mean that it has to be
raining inside.
Using other positive words in describing items will also
hold and maintain a higher enthusiasm. Try some of these words and phrases:
I highly recommend, My favorite is, our guests love, most
popular, original, piping hot, decadent, delicious, famous, fresh, fun,
sautéed, sizzling, please, thank you, yes mam, yes sir.
Never use: profanity, guys, girls, what’s up, what do you
want, it’s OK, we can’t do that, micro waved, what are you drinking, yea, nah,
yup, nope, I don’t know.
Enthusiasm is not only a positive influence on everyone
around you, but you will find it creates a much better feeling for you overall.
Have an awesome day and make more money!
